INDUSTRIAL, WELDING, SHIELDING & LASER GASES FOR AUTOMOTIVE & TRANSPORTATION

Nitrogen
Nitrogen is ideal for processes like tire curing, autoclave inerting, and heat treating for various automotive components. It is also used as an assist gas for laser cutting and enhances plasma-cutting processes. It can also be used to shrink-fit engine and transmission parts, and to manufacture electronic components for seats, stereo systems, anti-lock brakes and air conditioning.

Argon
Assembly plants, tier 1s and tier 2s use argon in combination with other welding gases to weld auto components such as exhaust systems, suspensions, seats, axles, and other components because of its ability to provide the necessary atmosphere needed to produce adequate welds with any material. It’s also commonly used in airbags.

Hydrogen
As a component of heat treating atmosphere, hydrogen reacts with oxygen to produce a bright finish on steel parts. It is also used, either alone or as part of a mix, as a quench gas for High Pressure Gas Quenching because of its high heat transfer properties. When used as an alternate fuel, in either a fuel cell or directly in an internal combustion engine, hydrogen also plays a key role in reducing undesirable emissions.

Helium
Helium is used to test radiator heat exchangers and torque converters to ensure they are leak tight. As an inert gas, helium can be mixed with argon to improve shielding gas characteristics for laser welding and aid in the production of air bags. It is also important for high pressure gas quenching commonly used with low pressure carburizing to minimize distortion in critical components.

Oxygen
Oxygen is used in foundries that make automotive coatings, as a plasma cutting gas, an assist gas for laser cutting, and is sometimes added in small quantities to shielding gases.

Acetylene
Acetylene provides a precise carbon source for our low pressure carburizing process. Its purity and transport solvent deliver tightly controlled carburizing each and every cycle.
